Welcome.
Where it All Starts

The English Carp Heritage Organisation (ECHO) was formally launched on the 23rd April 2001. The brainchild of two well known anglers, Ian Chillcott and Keith Jenkins, ECHO has become the largest supported angling-related pressure group, solely dedicated to maintaining the health and welfare of the UK’s carp stocks. To find out more follow this link for a short history of ECHO by Chris Ball.

Competition time

Once again ECHO would like to offer the membership a fantastic opportunity for any budding author to submit an article to be included within the spring issue of the Echoes Magazine 2009.  There will be two competitions that will run alongside each other, one for junior members (under 18’s) and one for adults.

EDUCATION NOT CONDEMNATION.
The threat of serious fish diseases is no longer a distant prophecy.
Carp killing viruses are a reality and affected fisheries are on the increase. ECHO campaigns for a greater awareness with regard to fish health, provides a point of contact for anglers and fishery owners, in addition to maintaining intense political pressure with regard to issues arising from angling. It is vital that this unified approach continues to secure the future health status of our country’s carp.

ECHO looks for support in 2 key areas-anglers and the angling related trade. Largely self sustaining through individual membership, ECHO has punched well above their weight in many key areas over the last few years with the support of individual anglers.

Fish Welfare Fund

In 2006, ECHO launched the Fish Welfare Fund with the SAA an opportunity for the angling related trade to support the movement for unity and sustainability in the future.
